SUMMER CAMPS 2026
Co-Artistic Director Erin Hennessy is about moving the Body, Mind, and Spirit. Many may not realize the depth of experience Erin brings to the studio. Beyond her studies of dance at Concordia University, she is a Yoga teacher and Level 2 Reiki healer with a heartfelt dedication to supporting mental health and social wellbeing. She works intuitively to understand every student’s mindset, creating a space where everyone feels seen, safe, and supported.
With that being said, she has been planning a series of unique summer experiences for our dancers.

The Mindful Dancer Summer Camp.
This week-long camp is designed to help dancers slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and explore dance in a different way.
Throughout the week students will explore things we don’t always have time for during the regular season, including:
• Yoga & breathwork for managing stress and performance nerves
• Anatomy and injury prevention for dancers
• Expression through movement and creative exploration
• Art activities and sound healing
• Healthy smoothie making and snacks for dancers
• A beach afternoon and a relaxing spa-style recovery day
This camp focuses on building healthy habits, confidence, creativity, and a deeper connection to dance in a supportive environment
Technique, Creative Process & Choreography
This week will allow dancers to focus on growth, not only in technique but also in confidence, creativity, and artistic understanding.
Throughout the week, dancers will continue to build strength, control, and coordination while exploring modern and contemporary movement in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Students will learn how to:
• Create their own movement through guided improvisation.
• Build and structure choreography.
• Work collaboratively with other dancers.
• Develop confidence in expressing their ideas.
• Learn skills such as dance notation, musicality, and sound editing.
Dancers will also be introduced to important modern dance pioneers and current Canadian choreographers, and will take part in guided viewing and discussion sessions. These conversations help dancers learn how to think critically about dance, articulate their ideas, and develop a deeper appreciation for the art form.
Each student will create both solo and group choreography based on their level of experience and technique, developing skills that go far beyond memorizing steps. A studio viewing of work created during the camp will be held on the last day of camp. Students do not have to perform their solo work if they choose not to.
Elements from the student choreography created through this camp will be used during the “Dance For Film” camp in August. Separate information regarding this camp will be released shortly.
Dance for the Camera
This week explores how choreography can be adapted and reimagined for the camera.
Using movement created during Camp # 2, dancers will learn to translate choreography from studio to screen, discovering how film can completely change the viewer’s perspective.
Throughout the week, dancers will explore:
• how camera angles and shot choices affect storytelling
• adapting movement for close-up and wide shots
• working with a gimbal camera stabilizer
• basic filming techniques and composition
• storyboarding and planning a dance film
• editing video and working with sound
Dancers will also study excerpts from a variety of dance films, helping them develop a deeper understanding of how movement, camera, and editing come together to create a final piece.
Students will work collaboratively as dancers, choreographers, and filmmakers to create a short dance film.
The week will end with an in-studio showing of their final work.
